역사와 문화가 살아숨쉬는 국립광주박물관The Gwangju National Museum, built in traditional Korean architectural style, aims to promote culture and the arts, cultural refinement, and the regional culture.
In addition to collecting, preserving, researching, and exhibiting the cultural heritage of Gwangju and the Jeonnam area and conducting academic research and surveys, the Gwangju National Museum welcomes visitors with permanent and special exhibitions and is dedicated to providing social education for the local residents.

The museum is designated as a nonsmoking zone.
No pets are allowed, excluding service animals. Food and drink are not allowed in the galleries.
