76. Dolmens of Yeongchon and Suwang in Yeonggwang
● Location: Yeongchon and Suwang in Yeonggwang
● Period: 1999. 04. 12 ~ 05. 21
● Contents: During the roadwork on the Seohaean Highway, total 11 dolmens were found. The dolmens are valuable to have understanding of the structure of dolmens of Yeonggwang of areas of Yeonggwang and relationship with dolmens in riverside of the Yeongsan River.
75. Dolmens in Undae & Anchi in Goheung
● Location: undae-ri, Duwon-myeon, Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do Province & Anchi, Shinan-ri, Jeoman-myeon, Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do Province
● Period: 1999. 01. 04 ~ 03. 20
● Contents: This investigation aims to preserve and restore the cultural heritages which will be destroyed by the roadwork between Goheung and Beolgyo.
74. Early celadon porcelain kiln site in Haenam Hwawon-myeon
● Location: Hwawon-myeon, Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do Province
● Period: 1998. 12. 14 ~ 12. 26
● Contents: Through theinvestigation, we could find 11 kiln sites in Shindeok-ri village and surrounding mountains. They are estimated to be used to produce early celadon porcelains and all kiln sites excepting for the 9th kiln are similar. Therefore, it can be seen that celadon porcelains were hugely produced in a specific time.
73. Buddhist sites in Gwangju and Jeollanam-do Province
● Location: Gwangju and Jeollanam-do Province
● Period: 1998. 10. ~ 12.
● Contents: Opening the Buddhist Art Gallery, Gwangju National Museum investigates total 96 objects and 14 Buried Cultural Heritage sites including Byeongpung-ri in Daeheon-myeon to exhibit local Buddhist culture and write a report about excavated objects and sites for users. As a result of the investigation, we found that 10 sites including Seol-wok-ri in Okgwa-myeon were certainly ruined temple sites. Others are also located at around existing temples and ruined temples therefore we consider that we may find the relationship between the sites and temples through the next investigation.
72. Islands of the South Sea
● Location: An-do, Gyeongho-do, Geomun-do and Hwatae-do in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do Province
● Period: 1998. 12. 21 ~ 12. 29
● Contents: Through this excavation of 5 islands, we found pieces of potteries with appique decoration and comb-pattern potteries of the early Neolithic Age, obsidian and stone tools.
71. Kiln sites of Jeollanam-do Province
● Location: Gangjin-gun, Haenam-gun, and Yeong-am-gun in Jeollanam-do Province
● Period: 1997. 11. 24 ~ 12. 19
● Contents: Gangjin-gun has been well-known as a place of Korean celadon porcelains. Through this investigation, we could find 9 Buncheong ware kiln sites, 12 white porcelain kiln sites and 6 pottery kiln sites. The period of Buncheong ware kiln sites is on the progress that the main shape of porcelains was changed from Goryeo celadon of the Goryeo Age into Buncheong wares of the early Joseon Age. The periods of white porcelain kiln sites are various and the oldest kiln site is estimated to be made in the 16th century. The investigation was valuable to have understanding of history of porcelain.
70. Dolmens of Docheon-ri in Goheung
● Location: Docheon-ri, Gwayeok-myeon, Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do Province
● Period: 1997. 03. 03 ~ 03. 07
● Contents: To preserve cultural heritages from roadwork on Gundo, we investigated the dolmen in the place. Pieces of plain coarse potteries, grey-blue hard potteries and stamp designed potteries of the Unified Silla Age and tiles were excavated.
69. Heritage site of Bulhoe-sa Temple in Naju
● Location: Bulhoe-sa Temple, Masan-ri, Dado-myeon, Naju-gun, Jeollanam-do Province
● Period: 1994. 09. 07 ~ 09. 26
● Contents: Pieces of Arhan statues were found in the mountain 200m away from the Bulhoe-sa Temple. To find the heritage site, we had an excavation and found animal statues around the place we found Arhan statues. The material of Arhan statue is soft stone and describes human’s bodyline very well.
68. Living area of Josan in Deok-yang-ri in Yeosu
● Location: Josan, Deukyang-ri, Sora-myeon, Yeocheon-gun, Jeollanam-do Province
● Period: 1992.01
● Contents: During this a surface investigation, heritage sites were damaged. Pieces of broken potteries were found in surrounding areas of the heritage site and we may see the wall lines of living sites. The square living site is 4.0m in length and 3.1m in width and 60cm in depth.
67. The excavation of Bugil-ri jar coffin in Haenam
● Location: Bugil-ri, Hwasan-myeon, Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do Province
● Period: 1990. 04. 03 ~ 04. 04
● Contents: This jar coffin was applied as a Buried Cultural Heritage and investigated. The jar coffin is typical U-shaped coffin. The small jar is a typical jar with patterns on the bottom while the big jar has a hole on the bottom and was found in Haenam area.
